Let’s explore New Year’s Eve in Byron Bay.
New Year’s Eve Soul Street Party
A section of the centre Byron Bay becomes a car-free zone from 6am on December 31st, 2017 to 8am on January 1st, 2018.
The Soul Street Party takes over Jonson Street, from Byron to Lawson Street. Locals and visitors join to reclaim the streets at this family-firendly event on New Year’s Eve.
Running from 2-10pm, the street party includes live music, roaming circus performers from Spaghetti Circus and drummers performing throughout the afternoon and evening.
Tasty food is on offer from the food stalls. Many local artisans bring their beautiful work for you to buy.
Hosted by the Byron Community Centre, this popular and free event is also entirely alcohol-free. Free parking will be available at Butler Street Reserve. Alternatively, simply enjoy a leisurely 45-minute stroll to the part from your Holiday Park accommodation.

New Year’s Morning
On the morning after the night before, why not welcome the first sunshine of 2018 in-person?
Head up to Australia’s easternmost point near Byron Bay’s iconic lighthouse and be among the first to see the sun rise over the horizon in the country.
For those who really want to be the first, take a night-time hike up Mount Warning and be the very first witnesses to 2018’s new sun. You’ll need to be up there by 5:30am at the latest, which means leaving the trailhead around 3am. Find more on the hike in our recent Mount Warning blog post.
