Introducing Madeleine and Ryan Murnane, our new Assistant Managers

Posted by vimandzest | August 31, 2017 | Byron Bay

We’re so delighted to welcome Madeleine and Ryan, BHP’s new Assistant Managers. They come here with enthusiasm, plenty of new ideas and a love for life.  These traits will shine through and we feel our guests will notice that as soon as they arrive. We asked them about the start of their journey…

  1. How did you know you wanted to manage a holiday park?

Ryan – I have grown up in this industry and I loved my childhood. Being a parent now myself, I can’t imagine a better life for my family.
Madeleine – I agree, I haven’t been brought up in the industry. However, I come from a big family and my fondest memories are camping and spending that time with love ones. As far as work goes, I love customer service so to be able to combine these two loves and be a part of our guest’s holidays and memories is great.

  1. What was your first impression of the Park?

M – oh my goodness!!! Byron Holiday Park offers so many things – from the playground to the beach. It’s fantastic! And the chickens, we love the chickens!
R – The size, it’s huge! I didn’t realise it was so close to the beach! The whole location is great and so close to everything.

  1. What do you think the most rewarding part of your job will be?

R – I think it comes down to the guests! We love the guests and being able to help them create a holiday experience they won’t forget.
M –  Work/lift balance too.  Having our 7 year old daughter be a part of it all, she takes after her parents…little social butterfly,

  1. What do you think will be most challenging? Working together?

M – I think we’ve always been a good team, with very different methods but the same goals and motivation so no not really working together.
R – I think we will have to get back to you on that!

  1. What is your vision for Byron Holiday Park? What would you love to see happen at the Park?

M – I would love for the guest to experience the community family feel we hope to achieve.
R –  Just for the guest to be happy and to create precious memories for their families at our Park.

  1. What do you think makes Byron Bay so popular?

R – The food, the beaches, the waves. They are some of the best in the world!
M – it is a place that has so much warmth, there are people from every walk of life and every decade as far as style goes.

  1. What makes Byron Holiday Park so special?

R – Apart from the location and its natural surroundings, I would say the feel between the staff and the guests.
M – I really think that every person who works here is a naturally themselves. This creates a greatatmosphere. I also think that the Park, being family owned, gives it a real organic feel.

  1. Maddie, you worked in a camping store before, what item do you think is a must have when camping?

M – oh I am a happy little camper if I have my family, but I also love my cobb camp oven so much that I use it even when I am not camping.

  1. What are you most looking forward to while working and living in Byron?

R – Everything Byron has to offer. The culture, great beaches, great restaurants and the surrounding hinterland.
M – I think the lifestyle – from the markets to the beach and just adventuring.
